Garden Gleanings
by Bob Hatton

Our automatic sprinkler and drip irrigation systems are not maintenance free. Don’t forget to periodically check these systems for correct operation. Check all spray heads to be sure that they are properly aligned, not clogged or partially clogged and that they aren’t being affected by tall grass, shrubs or other objects. Look for ‘hot spots’ where the grass or other vegetation is brown as a result of not getting the proper amount of water. These checks may necessitate your having to raise some sprinkler heads, add, or move some to eliminate the ‘hot spots’. [continued]

Calvin Armstrong Takes Time to Chat With Some Hometown Fans
Craig and Beverly Vinson spent several days in Palo Duro Canyon with their three grandchildren, Shelby, Cambry, and Rhys. They attended the outdoor drama, Texas, on Friday night, July 11th. After the show they got autographs from Chelsea Gidden, "Elsie McLean" and Cory Schneider, "Calvin Armstrong". Cory was delighted to meet his enthusiastic fans and have a photo made with them.

Cory was introduced to theatre in Gruver, Texas, where he graduated high school. Since then he has performed in 1776 at Panola Jr. College, where he was attending school on a theatre scholarship. He then embarked on a short adventure to Los Angeles, where he performed in Four Dogs and a Bone, a few short films, and studied under Lauren Patrice Nadler. He was a member of the 2005 TEXAS Legacies production and is excited to be a part of the rebirth of TEXAS for his second season in the role of Calvin Armstrong.
